.VOM

.VOM is an experimental music project led by Rufus Parenti, a Saxophonist and Composer based in Chicago. Reminiscent of Chicago luminaries such as Tortoise, Chicago Underground Duo, and Isotope 217, .VOM crafts a sound simultaneously indebted and intimately connected to this city’s musical history. As they've begun to record their debut album ‘Powerlines’- .VOM is moving to continue building on the success of past performances at venues such as the California Clipper, Lemon, as well as the 2025 Chicago Jazz Festival with their own unique blend of instrumental improvisation. This iteration of the project will feature a trio of Rufus Parenti on Saxophones and Effects, Steve Kuhn on Guitar and Effects, and Charlie O'Neill on Drums, Cymbals, and Effects.
