About the event
Still Life Moving Fast is a collaboration between Christy Bennett (voice), Ethan Philion (bass), Casey Nielsen (guitar), and Devin Drobka (drums). The quartet explores a mix of jazz, folk, and pop songs with a mix of acoustic instruments and electronics in an effort to create deeply personalized renditions of beloved songs. The band's sound is inspired by Petra Haden and Bill Frisell's work together. Still Life Moving Fast is a new project, but the musicians have worked together on other projects including in Christy Bennet's Fumée, which performed at the 2022 Chicago Jazz Festival.
