Sam Pilnick's Nonet Project

Sam Pilnick is a Chicago-based saxophonist, composer/arranger, and music educator. He leads, writes and arranges for his nine-piece instrumental ensemble Sam Pilnick’s Nonet Project. The Nonet has two albums: The Adler Suite (2021) and The Project (2025), both records went to receive national and international acclaim! Sam's music is based on his various musical influences from big band jazz to pop-punk rock to small improvisationally focused jazz. Sam also performs around Chicago with groups such as John Dorhauer’s Heisenberg Uncertainty Players and Blazer Floyd.
